Thursday eve we enjoyed my night off and took the girls out to the park to let off some steam (it was actually me that wanted an opportunity to knit, but this was good.) We tagg-teamed watching the girls. I watched Joelle while he watched Jordan. I got to chatting with another mom and after a while I realized I haven't seen either him or Jordan for a while. I thought they might of gone to the other playgroud so I headed that way. But I didn't have to go far before I found both of them.

Yes, I'm proud to say... That's my hubby in that tree. (Not too high, it's not a very big tree)
Jordan was having so much fun in the tree hubby decided to join her. Something he wouldn't of considered a year ago. But since he's gotten serious and consistent with his CrossFit training and his diet he has gotten much healthier and has more energy to play with the kids.

Joelle didn't care much for climbing trees. She chose to fuel her love affair with dirt, mud, and sand.

Jada is getting so big and strong! She holds her head up so well. She loves to stand in our laps when we hold her and smile. She's drooling quite a bit and gnawing on her hand, so maybe we'll have a tooth soon!

I don't wear her much right now. I have a BabyBjorn, but it puts too much pressure on my shoulders and my back gets sore quickly. I like the sling, but it seems too restrictive for her and she's fussy in it. But I'm looking into buying an ErgoBaby carrier. I've heard they were the bomb when it comes to baby wearing. I'll deffinately need to find something. She loves to be held and wearing her is much easier than toting around a stroller.

Speaking of Jerimiah's diet. He's gotten pretty serious with the Zone Diet. Recently he refigured his daily "block" requirements and started weighing and measuring everything. He's had good results with it, so I'm jumping into it too. The beauty of it is that I can have whatever I want, yes even chocolate, as long as I keep each mean and snack balanced and I don't exceed my daily zone block requirements. The diet's been getting to me though because i feel hungry most of the time. So I'm learning to choose lower GI foods that are more filling. Today for lunch I made a Tuna Veggie Salad with a side of fruit.

Tuna and Veggie Salad with side of fruit

Makes 4-3 zone block meals.

  • 2 - 6oz cans water packed tuna (12 blocks protien)
  • 2 cup broccoli - chopped (1.5 blocks carbs approx.)
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion (1/3 blocks carb approx.)
  • 1/2 cup chopped celery (1/5 Block approx.)
  • 4 tspn mayonaise (12 blocks fat)
  • 1 tspn Dill Weed
  • 1 Tblspn Lemon Juice
  • 4 cups lettuce, 1/2 bell pepper, 1/2 cucumber (2 Blocks Carbs)
  • 2 cups snow peas (2 blocks Carbs)
  • 2 apples, 1 orange, wedged (6 blocks carbs)

Drain tuna. Mix Tuna, chopped Brocoli, chopped onion, chopped celery, mayo, dill weed, and lemon juice in bowl. This makes about 4 cups.

Thinly slice bell pepper and cucumber. Rinse snow peas.

On 4 plates, place one cup of lettuce. Top with 3/4 to 1 cup of tuna-broccoli mixture. Top with snow peas and bell pepper slices. Garnish with 1/8 cucumber, 1/2 apple, and 1/4 orange.

This was rather filling and yummy. If you are doing multiplying fat blocks you could use some O/V or Ranch dressing on top of the salad.
